Rajamouli has confirmed that Varanasi is being shot specifically for IMAX, marking a massive leap for Indian cinema


SS Rajamouli - Mahesh Babu's upcoming mega-hit Varanasi is reportedly being shot in a rare 1.43:1 IMAX aspect ratio. It will be the first film in the history of Telugu cinema to be made entirely in this format. Rajamouli is hopeful that more 1.43 IMAX screens will be available in Hyderabad for the film, which is scheduled to release in 2027.

New Technology: Unlike Baahubali and RRR, 'Varanasi' is being shot in IMAX 1.43:1 format from the beginning.

In Hyderabad: Efforts are being made to make 1.43 IMAX screens available in Hyderabad as well as in India for this film.

Hollywood Level: Rajamouli aims to take the level of Telugu cinema to new heights at the international level, especially in IMAX screenings, through this film.
